Declared value

Shipment insurance

Parcel insurance or “Declared value” is an additional service that allows you to insure your parcel. The service is available for all domestic and some international services and is charged extra.

By placing an order with declared value, the courier company will assume liability for the goods up to their actual value, provided that the declared amount is not more or less than the actual value of the goods.

In the event of a claim, e.g. for damage or loss, the courier company will require a document proving the value of the goods (receipt, invoice, etc.). This means that the responsibility lies with the customer to prove the actual value of the shipment.

For example:

  • In the field “Declared value” the amount of 100 RON is entered and the real value of goods (receipt, invoice) is 50 RON, then the carrier will consider the amount of 50 RON when considering the claim,
  • in the field “Declared value” the amount of 100 RON is entered and the real value of goods (receipt, invoice) is 200 RON, then the carrier will consider the amount of 100 RON when considering the claim.
